Behind the pink ribbons is an ugly truth: women of color are more likely to be diagnosed later, face more aggressive cancers, and die at higher rates. Founded in 2009 in memory of Kimberlly Renee Thomas, Pink Isn’t Always Pretty, Inc. works to raise awareness, empower communities, and address the unique ways breast cancer affects women of color.
